Mad Season was an American band from Seattle, Washington formed in 1994 and disbanded in 1999. The group was founded by famous Seattle musicians from such bands as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Screaming Trees. The band members were Barrett Martin – drums, Mike McCready – guitar, John Baker Saunders – bass and Layne Staley – vocals, guitar. The band began playing gigs without being named and without any single. However, they had a big success and were known as Gacy Bunch. Later they changed the name for Mad Season and released their only album Above. The album came out in 1995 and was released through Columbia Records. It peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the U.S. The album spawned such hit singles like "River of Deceit", "I Don't Know Anything", and "Long Gone Day".
