Matthew Stephen Ward, known as M. Ward is an American indie folk singer-songwriter born on October 4, 1973 in Newbury Park, California, the United States. He began his solo career in 1999 releasing the debut album Duet for Guitars #2. He continued with End of Amnesia in 2001. In total, he has released seven studio albums including one live album. The album features guest appearances of Lucinda Williams, Jason Lytle, Zooey Deschanel and others. Ward and Deschanel formed a band named She & Him.
