Lush

Lush was an English alternative rock band formed in London, England in 1987. The band was founded under the name of The Baby Machines. The initial line-up composed of Meriel Barham (vocals), Emma Anderson (guitar), Miki Berenyi (guitar), Steve Rippon (bass), and Chris Acland (drums). The band officially broke up 1998. They were struck by the tragedy in 1996 when Chris Acland committed suicide and after that couldn’t fully find themselves again in the music. The band has released four albums. The debut album Scar came out in 1989 and reached number 3 on the UK Indie chart. Their next albums charted on the main UK Albums charts – “Spooky” was at number 7, “Split” on number 19 and “Lovelife” on 8.
