Lucero

Mexican latin pop, mexican pop and folk singer and actress Lucero (birth name Lucero Hogaza León) was born on August 29, 1969, in Mexico City. At the age of ten, she started her career as Lucerito in the children's television series Alegrías De Mediodía and Chiquilladas, where she starred alongside artist Carlos Espejel. One of her more popular roles was in a Popeye skit as Olive Oyl. Later, she would share the spotlight with international artist Thalía in the singing competition Juguemos a Cantar. She achieved mainstream success as a singer in 1998 with her breakthrough album, Cerca de Ti, which produced the singles, "Corazón lastimado", "A partir de hoy", "Desviste mi boca", "Te amaré toda la vida" and "Cerca de ti"". The first single "Corazón Lastimado" was sent to radio to popular music and pop stations as well, reaching the Top Ten in México.
