Leo Kottke is an American acoustic guitarist born on September 11, 1945 in Athens, Georgia. He is known for his extraordinary style of playing, for his unusual fingerpicking style. During his career, he faced several serious problems, which could cause ceasing of his music career. Despite all the obstacles, he continues playing. He partially lost the hearing and had problems with tendon that made him to change his picking style. At first he was focused mainly on instrumental music, but later he added vocals to his compositions and now you can call him singer-songwriter. He has released 23 studio albums, four live albums, 10 compilation albums. He released his first album 6- and 12 String Guitar in 1969. The last album Try and Stop Me came out in 2004.
