Le Tigre

American electroclash and dance-punk band Le Tigre from New York City, New York, was founded in 1998. The band's current line-up comprises Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson. Initially Kathleen Hanna was a member of a punk act called Bikini Kill. She performed with this group for eight years. In the late 1990s, this act disbanded and decided to organize another band. They emerged on the American music scene with their breakthrough self-titled debut album, which spawned the band's first hit, "Hot Topic". Several years later, they released their following record entitled Feminist Sweepstakes, which earned a contract with Universal label for the band. In 2004, they produced their most successful album, This Island, which yielded the singles such as "New Kicks", "TKO", "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo" and "After Dark".
