Lard

Lard is an American industrial and hardcore band organized in 1989. This band is the project of Al Jourgensen, Paul Barker (of Ministry) and of Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys). Jourgensen and Biafra has plans of creating a band much earlier in 1983, but only 1989 saw them playing together. They released their debut album The Power of Lard the same year. The original line-up also included Al Jourgensen (guitar, backing vocals, programming), Paul Barker (bass, programming), Jeff Ward (drums, programming), Jello Biafra (vocals, deprogramming). The main features of Lard were “punk” riffs, Biafra’s vocals and his political lyrics with his classy sarcasm. The second record titled The Last Temptation of Reid was released in 1990. The album was dedicated to Reid Hyams, the owner of Chicago Trax studio where Ministry had recorded most of theirs early projects. The bad has released two more albums since then.
