Laika is a British alternative rock band coming from London, England. The band was founded by Margaret Fiedler, John Frenett and Guy Fixsen. The current band members are Margaret Fiedler, Guy Fixsen and Lou Ciccotelli. The band was named after the first animal on the orbit, the Russian dog Laika. The band’s style can be classified as experimental, post-rock, dream-pop and electronica. The band is signed to Too Pure Records. They have released five albums, including one compilation album. The debut album Silver Apples of the Moon was released in 1995. Allmusic gave it 4 out 5 stars. The last album Wherever I Am I Am What Is Missing came out in 2003.
