Laid Back

Laid Back is a Danish pop group formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1979. The band was founded by John Guldberg (vocals, guitars, bass) and Tim Stahl (vocals, keyboards, drums, bass). The duo had worked together before they organized their own band. They met each other in the group The Starbox Band. The group played a poor open show for the Kinks and split after that. Yet, the two musicians continued working together. The debut album Laid Back was released in 1981. The album spawned hit single number one in Denmark “Maybe I’m Crazy”. The following single “Sunshine Reggae” continued their success. The song featured their next album Keep Smiling that was released in 1983. The single was released once again and this time it topped charts not only in Denmark but abroad as well. The song was popular in Italy, Western Germany and in many other countries.
