Kurt Nilsen

Kurt Nilsen, birth name Kurt Erik Nilsen was born on September 29, 1978 in Bergen, Norway. He is a Norwegian rock and country singer and songwriter, playing guitar, drums and bass. He rose to fame in his home country in 2003 when he won the first season of the Pop Idol TV show. He went to feature international contest World Idol together with winners of the same contests in other countries. This helped him to rise to the international fame especially when he won this contest. He beat such favorites Kelly Clarkson from the United States and Will Young from Great Britain. His winning song was U2 hit “Beautiful Day”. During his music career, he has released 4 studio albums, 11 singles and 4 collaborative songs. His most popular album was a debut one “I” released in 2003. It featured such hit singles like “She’s so high”, “Here She Comes” and “All You Have to Offer”.
