Kumiko Koda, better known as Kumi Koda, is a Japanese pop, rock, urban, R&B, dance and electropop singer-songwriter, actress, voice actress and spokesperson. She was born on November 13, 1982 in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. She debuted on the music scene in 2000 with her single “Take Back”. During her career, she has released seven studio albums, four compilation albums and45 singles. The debut album was certified Gold and that was only the beginning of her way to the fame. The album Kingdom (2008) is her best-selling album to date with total sales of about 1,200,000 copies. The album was certified 3 x Platinum. The album spent 32 weeks on the chart reaching number one.
