Kris Allen, birth name Kristopher Neil Allen is an American pop rock and alternative rock singer-songwriter and musician born on June 21, 1985 in Jacksonville, Arkansas, the United States. He is a devoted Christian and took part in the missionary work in different countries including Burma, Morocco, Thailand, Mozambique and some others. He showed his music talent in his childhood when he earned the place in the Arkansas all-state orchestra playing viola. He self-taught to play guitar and decided to pursue a music career. He successfully auditioned for the show American Idol and won it. He names different artists who influenced him like the Beatles, Michael Jackson, John Mayer and others. During his career, he has released two albums. the debut Brand New Shoes is self-released. The debut studio self-titled album came out in 2009.
