Krieg is an American black metal band formed in Somers Point, New Jersey, the United States in 1995. The band’s name means “War” in German. Originally, it was formed as Imperial but the new name was established in 1997. The band’s frontman and the only continuous member is Neill Jameson (Imperial). All other members are temporary and join him during the live shows. The last live line-up composed of Imperial (vocals), SM Deamon (bass), Malfeitor (guitars) and of Sebastian (drums). The band has released five studio albums, one live EP, one studio EP and several demos. According to the band’s leader, he is inspired by numerous novels and films including The Church (Italian horror film of 1989), American Psycho (novel and film), Requiem for a Dream and others.
