King Diamond is a heavy metal band coming from Copenhagen, Denmark and formed in 1985. The band was formed by a heavy metal musician King Diamond after his previous group Mercyful Fate had broken up. The current band’s line-up composes of King Diamond (vocals, keyboards, harpsichord), Andy LaRocque (guitar. keyboards), Mike Wead (guitar), Hal Patino (bass), Matt Thompson (drums) and Livia Zita (backing vocals). King Diamond departed from his previous Satanic lyrics and switched on horror themes. Each of the albums (except for Fatal Portrait and The Spider’s Lullabye) have a story told throughout the songs. The last band’s album “Give Me Your Soul… Please” was released in 2007. It came out in North America and in Europe and the band earned their first Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance” for “Never Ending Hill”.
