Kalmah

Kalmah is a Finnish melodic death metal band formed in Pudasjärvi, Finland in 1998. The current band’s line-up composes of Pekka Kokko (vocals, guitar), Antti Kokko (lead guitar), Marco Sneck (keyboards), Timo Lehtinen (bass guitar), Janne Kusmin (drums). The band’s name is a Karelian word and it’s translated as “to death”. The band’s history began in 1991 when Pekka Kokko and Petri Sankala formed the band Ancestor. This banded transformed into Kalmah in seven years. Kalmah’s debut demo Svieri Obraza caught an ear of Spinefarm Records and the band was signed. The debut album Swamplord was released in 2000. In total, the band has released five studio albums. The last album For the Revolution came out in 2008. In order to promote the album, the band toured in Finland and in Canada.
