German rock and pop band Juli from Gießen, Hesse, was formed in 1999. The band comprises Eva Briegel (lead singer), Marcel Römer (drums), Andreas "Dedi" Herde (bass), Jonas Pfetzing (guitar) and Simon Triebel (guitar). In 2004, they release their debut hit single "Perfekte Welle", which became very popular in Germany. Despite the fact that this single debuted at number 38 on the German singles charts and later fell out of the top 40, "Perfekte Welle" soon was recovered. Due to heavy radio airplay it became a big hit. Soon "Perfekte Welle" entered the German top 10. The song peaked at number 2 and it also received a Gold certification. "Perfekte Welle" became their most successful single to date. The band's debut album Es ist Juli was released in 2004 and also peaked at number 2 in Germany.
