Joseph Arthur

American alternative rock and folk rock singer and songwriter Joseph Arthur was born on September 28, 1971, in Akron, Ohio, USA. As a teenager, he began writing songs and playing music. In the early 1990s, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There he started recording his debut demo, which caught the attention of the English musician and songwriter Peter Gabriel who later helped him to sign a contract with Real World label. After this deal, he began recording his debut album, Big City Secrets, which was released in 1997. This record produced several singles such as "Big City Secret", "Mercedes", "Mikel K", "Good About Me" and "Daddy's on Prozac".
