John Petrucci

John Peter Petrucci is an American guitarist and songwriter born on July 12, 1967 in Kings Park, Long Island, New York. Petrucci is a self-taught guitarist. His idols are Steve Morse, Steve Howe, Steve Vai and others. He is best known as the founder member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He and Mike Portnoy have produced all Dream Theater albums since 1999. At the same time, he is known for his solo career. He released his debut solo album Suspended Animation in 2005. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai invited him to join them on G3 guitar tour. This tour earned him a solid following and thus he was inspired to create a solo album.
