Jens Martin Lekman, better known just as Jens Lekman is a Swedish indie-pop musician, singer and songwriter, born on February 6, 1981 in Angered, Sweden. Now, he resides in Melbourne, Australia. During his career, he has been influenced by such musicians like Jonathan Richman and Belle & Sebastian. Lekman plays guitar and ukulele. He released his debut album When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog in 2004. The album was critically acclaimed and caught an eye of an alternative press both in Europe and in the United States. The album earned Lekman three nomination for Swedish Grammy Awards. It reached number 6 in Sweden and became album of the year according to Nöjesguiden. His next album Night Falls Over Kortedala came out in 2007. The album was praised by the critics, especially by Allmusic, Blender, PopMatters, and Pitchfork Media.
