Jacquelyn Davette Velasquez better known as Jaci Velasquez, is an American Contemporary Christian Latin Pop singer, born on October 15, 1979 in Houston, Texas, the United States. She sings both in English and in Spanish and she is of Spanish, Mexican and French origin. She has released quite many studio albums and reached commercial success. Her debut album Help Me was released independently in 1992. Next album Keep the Fire Burning was also independent but Velasqueze was noticed by record labels and was signed. The debut studio album Heavenly Place came out in 1996 and quickly earned her popularity. The album was certified Platinum. During her career, she has received Latin Grammy nomination and Grammy nomination. She has won also three Dove Awards for Spanish Language Album of the Year.
