INXS are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1977. The band originally was formed under the name The Farriss Brothers. The current line-up composes of Garry Gary Beers – bass, guitar, double bass, Andrew Farriss – keyboards, guitar, Jon Farriss – drums, keyboards, Tim Farriss – lead guitar, and Kirk Pengilly - guitar, saxophone, backing vocals. The band’s frontman for over 20 years was Michael Hutchence who died in 1997. The group gained popularity partly because of his sexual charisma and mystic, soft vocals. After his death, the group invited guest lead vocalists, like Jimmy Barnes, Terence Trent D'Arby, Jon Stevens, and J.D. Fortune. The group is considered the most popular Australian act after AC/DC.
