High Tide

High Tide is British folk, psychedelic and progressive rock band formed in 1969. The original band’s line-up composed of Roger Hadden on drums, Tony Hill on vocals and guitar, Simon House on violin and piano and Peter Pavli on bass. The band hasn’t achieved mainstream success but according to many critics, they have highly influenced on the development of the progressive rock music and metal being one of the pioneers of English folk and progressive rock music. The band’s two main albums “Sea Shanties” and “High Tide” are often named as first examples of heavy metal, especially the songs “Futilist’s Lament” and “Nowhere”. After the second album High Tide had been released, the band’s drummer left because of a heavy disease and the band haven’t been releasing anything during 18 years.
