Hideaki Tokunaga

Hideaki Tokunaga is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter and actor, born on February 27, 1961 in Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He began his career in 1982 participating in the TV show Star Tanjo! This program produced many Japanese stars like Pink Lady, Momoe Yamaguchi and others. However, Tokunaga had a bad luck and he was rejected. This didn’t stop him to begin music career and he released his debut album “Girl” in 1986. The album was supported by the single “Rainy Blue”. The real breakthrough happened when his album Birds hit the number one on the Oricon charts. He spread his popularity to the Philippines and one of his songs was covered in Tagalog. In the middle of the 2000s, Tokunaga began releasing series of albums titled Vocalist. So far, he has released four such albums.
