Dropkick Murphys

Irish-American Celtic punk, punk rock and hardcore punk band Dropkick Murphys from Quincy, Massachusetts, was formed in 1996. The band comprises Al Barr (lead vocals), Ken Casey (bass guitar, lead vocals), Matt Kelly (drums, bodhran, vocals), James Lynch (guitar, vocals), Scruffy Wallace (bagpipes, tin whistle), Tim Brennan (guitar, accordion, vocals) and Jeff DaRosa (acoustic guitar, keyboard, mandolin, organ, vocals). First playing together in the basement of a friend's barbershop, they blended traditional folk rock and punk rock known as Celtic punk. Their influences include Stiff Little Fingers, The Pogues, The Clash, Thin Lizzy, The Dubliners, and the Swingin' Utters. They rose to fame in 1998 with their debut album, Do or Die, which yielded several singles such as "Skinhead on the MBTA", "Finnegan's Wake" and "Cadence to Arms".
