403. Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in Long Island, New York, the United States in 1985. The band members are James Labrie (lead vocals, percussion), John Myung (bass guitar, chapman stick), John Petrucci (guitars, backing vocals), Mike Portnoy (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Jordan Rudess (keyboards, continuum, lap steel guitar). The band has become a very successful act despite the fact that most of the time it was underground and hasn’t released many singles. A good exception is the single Pull me Under of early 1990s which was rotated on MTV. The band’s highest-selling album is Images and Worlds (1992) which was certified Gold by RIAA. The last band’s album Black Clouds & Silver Linings was released in June 2009 and entered the US Billboard 200 and Eurochart Hot 100.
