Doc Watson

American blues, bluegrass, country, folk and gospel music singer, songwriter and musician Doc Watson (birth name Arthel Lane "Doc" Watson) was born on March 3, 1923, in Deep Gap, North Carolina US. He emerged on the American folk and country music scene in the early 1960s with his breakthrough self-titled album, which received very good reviews from critics. It also produced his first singles such as "Tom Dooley", "Black Mountain Rag" and "Omie Wise". From 1963 to 1980, he closely collaborated with American bluegrass musician Bill Monroe. As a result of such relationship, he released Off The Record, Vol. 2: Live Duet Recordings, 1963-1980, in 1993. This album contained the singles such as "What Would You Give In Exchange Four Your Soul?", "Watson's Blues", "Soldier's Joy", "Where Is My Sailor Boy?", "You Won't Be Satisfied That Way" and "Kentucky Mountain".
