The Divine Comedy is a British chamber pop, baroque pop and alternative rock band from Derry, Northern Ireland formed in 1989. The band was founded by Neil Hannon and its line-up was heavily changing through the time, leaving Hannon alone sometimes. Some of the members of the band were Grant Gordon, Joby Talbot, Simon Little, Stuart “Pinkie” Bates and many others. The band has released nine studio albums and one compilation album. The best charting album of the band is Fin de siècle released in 1998. It reached number 9 on the UK Albums chart. The album spawned three hit singles “Generation Sex”, “The Certainty of Chance” and “National Express”.
