Defiance is an American thrash metal band from Oakland, California, the United States formed in 1985. The band members are Steev Esquivel (lead vocals), Jim Adams (lead/rhythm guitar), Mike Kaufmann (bass) and Mark Hernandez (drums). The band is still in underground and it is totally unknown for the large masses, but they are considered to be classic band coming from Bay Area thrash metal scene. The band broke up in 1994 but reunited in 2005 and currently they are working on their next studio album. During their career Defiance have released three LPs Product of Soceity (1989), Void Terra Firma (1990) and Beyond Recognition (1992).
