Deborah Cox

Deborah Cox is a Canadian R&B singer-songwriter and actress born on July 13, 1974 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has been interested in music since her childhood. She began her career signing for commercials; when she was a teenager she was singing in nightclubs and participated in different talent contests. She was a back vocalist for Celine Dion for six months and decided to embark on solo career. However, Canadian record labels rejected her and she had to move to Los Angeles, California in order to pursue solo career. She released her debut self-titled album in 1995 through Arista Records. The album became Gold in the United States. During her career, she has released five studio albums and quite a number of singles. The last her album to date is Promise.
