Deana Carter

Deana Kay Carter is an American country music artist born on January 4, 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee, the United States. She began recording demo tapes and one of them attracted Willie Nelson in 1994. He invited Carter to join Farm Aid VII concert. After such promotion, Capitol Records caught an eye on her demo and she was signed. She broke through to the mainstream success in 1996 when she released her debut album “Did I Shave My Legs For This?” The album spawned three hit singles number one - "Strawberry Wine", "We Danced Anyway", "How Do I Get There". The album reached number 2 on the US Country chart and was number one in Canada. It received 5 x Multi- Platinum certification in America and 4 x Platinum in Canada.
