De Saint-Exupery, Antoine

Antoine de Saint-Exupery was a French aviator and writer. He was born on June 29, 1900 in Lyon, France and missed above the Mediterranean sea on July 31, 1944. He is widely known for his novella The Little Prince, that was written in 1943 and since that time it has become one of the most popular books around the world. Antoine is the third child out of five. He started his military service in 1921 and later he was sent in Strasbourg for training as a pilot. After obtaining his license, he settled in Paris and took several office jobs but he didn’t gain any success. In 1926 he started to fly again, flied between Toulouse and Dakar, then he worked in Argentina, lived in New York, in Quebec City, later he returned in Europe and joined the allied forces.
