Dave Swarbrick

English folk, folk rock and electric rock music singer, songwriter and arranger Dave Swarbrick (birth name David Cyril Eric Swarbrick) was born on 5 April 1941, in New Malden, England. He is often considered as a pioneer of the second British folk revival. He rose to fame as a vocalist of the English folk rock and electric folk music band Fairport Convention. He achieved mainstream success as a solo artist in 1976 with his self-titled album, Swarbrick. One year later, he released his following album, Swarbrick 2. These two records received mainly positive reviews from critics and became his most successful albums to date. In the late 1990s, he released his first compilation album, Swarbrick/Swarbrick Vol., which included his most popular singles such as "Heilanman Drowsy Maggie", "Carthy's March", "White Cockade Doc Boyd's Jig Durham Rangers", "My Singing Bird", "Nightingales", "Once I Loved A Maiden Fair", "Byker Hill" and "Ace And Deuce Of Pipering" among others.
