Commodores

The Commodores are an American funk/soul/disco band formed in 1967 in Tuskegee, Alabama, United States. The band’s original line-up composed of Lionel Richie, Thomas McClary, Milan Williams, William King, Ronald La Pread and Walter Orange. The current band members are Walter Orange, William King and J.D. Nicholas. The band has been recognized and it is valued very high as they were inducted in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. They began as an opening act for the Jackson 5 and thus they caught the public’s attention. Since that time, their popularity only rose and remained very stable. The band is known for such ballads as “Easy” and “Three Times a Lady” and for such dance hits like “Slippery When Wet” and “Brick House”.
