Grammy Award-winning American R&B, Funk, Soul, pop, jazz, rock and hip-hop singer-songwriter Chaka Khan (birth name Yvette Marie Stevens) was born on March 23, 1953, in North Chicago, Illinois, U.S. She is well known as The Queen of Funk Soul. She appeared on the American music scene in the early 1970s with her debut self-titled album.
