Carola Maria Häggkvist, known just as Carola, is a Swedish singer and occasional songwriter, born on September 8, 1966 in Stockholm, Sweden. She was one of the most popular Sweden’s singer at the beginning of the 1980s. During her career, she has released 23 studio albums and 29 singles. Her debut album Främling was released in 1983 and quickly made her popular. The album reached number 1 in Sweden and number 2 in Norway. It is the best-selling album in all Swedish music history. Many of her next albums reached the top spot of the Swedish chart including Steg för steg, Runaway, Jul i Betlehem, Sov på min arm, Guld, platina & passion, Störst av allt, Från nu till evighet and I denna natt blir världen ny - Jul i Betlehem II.
