Cameo

American R&B, funk and electro band Cameo from New York City, USA, was formed in 1974. The band originally was formed as the New York City Players. But this name was later changed to Cameo to avoid a lawsuit from The Ohio Players. The band currently comprises Larry Blackmon, Aaron Mills, Charlie Singleton, Tomi Jenkins and Jonathan Moffett. The band started with a deep, funky sound, but it was obvious from the start their sights were set on the dance floor. In 1977, they released their debut album, Cardiac Arrest, which reached number 16 on the R&B charts. It also yielded the hit single "Rigor Mortis". The album produced three singles such as "Why Have I Lost You", "Its Over" and "We All Know Who We Are".
