Bruce Hornsby

American improvisational multi-genre, rock, heartland rock, jazz and bluegrass singer and musician Bruce Hornsby (birth name Bruce Randall Hornsby) was born on November 23, 1954, in Williamsburg, Virginia. He began his music career as a vocalist of his brother's Bobby band called, Bobby Hi-Test and the Octane Kids. In the late 1970s, they moved to Los Angeles, where they started to write for 20th Century Fox. During this timed, he also collaborated with Sheena Easton band. A three years later, he came back to Virginia. He achieved mainstream success as a solo artist in the mid-1980 with his breakthrough debut album, Harbor Lights, which reached number 46 in the US. It spawned several singles such as "Harbor Lights", "Talk of the Town", "Long Tall Cool One" and "China Doll". Harbor Lights received very good reviews from critics.
