American R&B singer Bobby Valentino (birth name Robert Wilson) was born on February 27, 1980, in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. At the age of 16, he began his music career as a member of the R&B and hip hop band Mista. At this time, he performed under his real name Bobby Wilson. The band gained popularity with their self-titled breakthrough first album, Mista, which spawned the number one hit single, "Blackberry Molasses". Unfortunately, the album was not a huge success.
