Blitz

Blitz was an English street punk and punk rock band from New Mills, Derbyshire. It was formed in 1980. The group comprised Carl Fisher, Nidge Miller, Shawn Attack, Paul Lilley, Neil McLennan, Charlie Howe and Steve Cast. Comprised of both punk and skinhead members, they were enthusiastically championed by Sounds magazine writer Garry Bushell. The band had success in the United Kingdom indie charts in the early 1980's. They were often lumped in with Oi! bands such as The Cockney Rejects. The band signed to the record label No Future in 1981. They quickly gained popularity in 1982 with their breakthrough debut album, Voice of a Generation, which became the band's most successful album.
