William Haislip Squier, better known as Billy Squier is an American rock musician born on May 12, 1950 in Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States. He was interested in music since his childhood and was learning how to play guitar and piano. He was not serious until he listened to Eric Clapton who became his idol. At the beginning of his professional music career, he was playing in several bands but later decided to pursue a solo career. In 1980, he signed with Capitol records as a solo artist. The breakthrough to the mainstream success is linked with the album Don’t Say So. It was produced by Reinhold Mack, who produced Queen’s album The Game.
