Billy Ocean, birth name Leslie Sebastian Charles was born on 21 January 1950 in Fyzabad, Trinidad. He is a pop music artist based in Great Britain. When he was eight years old, his family moved to England. He worked as a tailor, and sang in London clubs at the same time. He embarked on his solo career in 1976 releasing the debut self-titled album. The breakthrough to the mainstream success happened in 1984 when he released the album Suddenly. The album received much success in the United States, where it peaked at number 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-hop albums. Eventually, the album went on 2 x Platinum.
