Ben Folds Five

Ben Folds Five was an alternative rock trio formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the United States in 1993. The band composed of Ben Folds (primary songwriter, vocalist, piano), Robert Sledge (bass and back vocals) and of Darren Jesse (drums, backing vocals and co-writing of several songs). The band broke up in 2000 but they reunited in 2008 just for a one concert where they played their last album The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. The band reached their best-success with a hit single “Brick” which featured their album Whatever and Ever Amen (1997). The song peaked at number 6 on Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts and was also popular in the UK, and in Australia.
