Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band formed in Gdańsk, Poland in 1991. The current band members are Adam Darski (vocals, guitars, acoustic guitar, synthesizer, programming), Tomasz Wróblewski (bass guitar, growled backing vocals), Zbigniew Robert Promiński (drums and percussion) and Patryk Dominik Sztyber (guitars, harsh backing vocals). Originally, the band was named Baphomet but in 1992, they changed the name for behemoth. The band’s style was classified as black-metal at the beginning of their career. Since 1994 their music has incorporated pagan elements and since 1999, the band turned to death-metal refusing from pagan themes. Their lyrics featured occultism, Middle East mythology and ideology of Aleister Crowley. The band has released ten studio albums and the last one is Evangelion.
