Azure Ray

American dream pop band Azure Ray from Athens, Georgia, was formed in 2001. The band comprises Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink. They met each other during their study at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. They both were interested in music very much. In the beginning, they performed under the name Little Red Rocket. They also were an opening act for the local bands including the alternative rock band Veruca Salt. In the late 1990s, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska to develop their musical career. There they caught the attention of WARM record label and began recording their debut album. Azure Ray was released in 2001 and it produced several singles such as "Sleep", "Displaced" and "Don't Make a Sound". The album's track, "Sleep", was used in the film "The Devil Wears Prada".
