Andy Summers

Andrew James Somers, better known under his stage name Andy Summers was born on December 31, 1942 in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. He is an English musician, guitarist, songwriter and producer, primary known for his work with The Police and with Eric Burdon & the Animals. Summers reached the international fame with such The Police hit singles like “Every Breath You Take”, "Message in a Bottle", "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and some others. Summers also wrote some songs for the band and instrumental composition “Behind My Camel” which earned Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental in 1980. In addition, he performed lead vocals on such songs like “Sally” and “Mother”. The Police broke up in 1983 and Summers continued his music career, collaborating with other musicians and pursuing his solo career.
