Altar

Dutch death metal band Altar was formed in 1990. The band was formed by Nils Vos (bass), Sjoerd Visch (drums) and Bert Huisjes (guitar). The band currently comprises Marcel Verdurmen (guitar), Richard Ludwig (guitar), Michel Coppens (vocals), Andre Hemel (bass) and Frank Schilperoort (drums). They gained popularity in 1994 with their breakthrough debut album, Youth Against Christ, which produced nine tracks including "Throne of Fire", "Jesus Is Dead", "Divorced from God", "Hypochristianity" and "Forced Imprudence". And now, you may download this album by Altar in mp3 from our site. Their second album, Ego Art, was released in 1996. Their third album, Provoke (1998), produced the singles, "Silent Force", "Wrong Night", "Judgementality", "Wasted World" and "2000 Years". After five full-lengths the band split up in 2001. From time to time, the classic line-up reunites to play a limited number of shows under the name Altar-native.
