Against Me

American punk rock and folk punk band Against Me! from Gainesville, Florida, was formed in 1997. The band's current line-up comprises Tom Gabel (guitar, lead vocals), James Bowman (guitar, vocals), Andrew Seward (bass, vocals) and George Rebelo (drums). Originally, the band was founded by singer and guitarist Tom Gabel as a solo project. Later, drummer Kevin Mahon joined the act. They released their breakthrough demo, Vivida Vis!, which brought the band two contracts with Misanthrope Records and Crasshole Records. They achieved mainstream success in 2005 with their third studio album, Searching for a Former Clarity, which peaked at number 114 on the Billboard and at number 19 on Billboard's Top Alternative Albums chart. It also received mainly positive reviews from critics and contained two hit singles such as "Don't Lose Touch" and "From Her Lips to God's Ears (The Energizer)".
