A Hawk and a Hacksaw

American folk, Balkan, klezmer and mariachi music band A Hawk and a Hacksaw (also known as AHAAH) from Albuquerque, was formed in 2000. The band comprises percussionist Jeremy Barnes and violinist Heather Trost. In early 2001, they signed to The Leaf Label and began recording their debut album. A Hawk and a Hacksaw was released in 2002 and it yielded the singles, "Maremaillette", "A Hack and a Handsaw", "Romceasca", "A Hard Row to Hoe" and "All Along the Tide". Three years later, they released their second and most popular album, Darkness at Noon, which became their real break. It also spawned several famous tracks such as "Our Lady of the Vlatva", "Wicky Pocky", "Portland Town, "Laughter in the Dark" and "The Moon Under Water".
